Dr. Mark Gaynor Assistant Professor School of Management, IS Department Boston University Dr. Mark Gaynor received his Ph.D. in Computer science at Harvard University in the networking group. Dr. Gaynor offers a unique blend of skills, which range from being a communications software designer and network manager very early in his career to his present job lecturing and research on business applications of networking at Boston University. His research interests include packet classification for Quality of Service, standardization in the IT area, designing network based-services, and wireless Internet services, and building economic models of network architecture. He is on the research board of Telecom City (a regional technology development project) and is a Co-PI on an NSF grant studying virtual markets on a wireless grid, and a senior personal on another NSF grant researching infrastructure for networks of pervasive sensors. He is technical director and network architect at 10Blade a startup company building wireless medical data entry devices that interface to medical sensors. Dr. Gaynor has published numerous articles on computer networking in journals including an article discussing the value of SIP in last years ieee Internet computing. He recently published a book entitled, Network Services Investment Guide, Maximizing ROI in Uncertain Times. |
