Mr. Brandes currently serves as Director of the Iraq and Afghanistan Reconstruction Task Forces within the International Trade Administration at the Department of Commerce. The Iraq and Afghanistan Task Forces is comprised of industry and trade experts dedicated to providing information to U.S. companies on potential opportunities and guidance on how they can participate in reconstruction activities. Previously he served as Acting Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce Advocacy Center. The Advocacy Center is the main point of contact for U.S. firms bidding on foreign government procurements seeking U.S. Government assistance.
